Mama sit

Today you told me "Mama sit" and you made me realized that we are soo busy between playgroup, your gym, Italian school and just being out that I hardly ever just sit and play with you.

James' Baptism

Zoo with Daddy!

"Mare monkeys!!"

For the past two weeks Dean has been talking about "Aah-mahls" over and over again so I thought what would be better than taking my boy to the Prospect Park Zoo for some quality time?

This past Sunday was a perfect early fall NYC sunny day.  We went to the zoo to see the cows, sheep, horses, and goats, to all of which Dean yelled "Cowww, Sheep, Goat, and Hareses" repeatedly.  He also was fascinated by their tails.

We then went over to the prairie dogs, the red pandas, the mini-aquarium with fish and frogs and turtles, an indoor facility where baboons (which Dean and I both mistakenly called "Monkeys").  We then ate lunch while admiring the Sea Lions who were putting on a show for everyone.  I've never seen Dean eat so fast.  He also said "Sea Lion" although I think he might have been thinking "See Lion" even though there wasn't a Lion in sight.  I wonder if he thinks Sea Lions are the new Lions.

As we were leaving, and practically between every exhibit, he screamed "Mare Aah-mahls" (More Animals)...we will have to go back again soon - perhaps next time to the Bronx Zoo or the Coney Island Aquarium.  I am a lucky dad to have such a wonderful, curious, happy son (all credit goes to mom!).

Either way, we had a ball, and he fell right to sleep on the ride home and on the way out to see his cousins for Leif's 30th birthday later that day. I had no problem falling asleep that night myself.

Halloween decorations

You are loving ghosts, pumpkins, and scarecrows these days!

Twins

Uncle Robert and Leif came over this evening to keep us company while daddy is away.  Both Leif and Robert had green polo shirts and you were obsessed with the horses on their shirts.  You even stood by the gate, so I would put a shirt with a horse on you.  Without me realizing it you and your Uncle Rob Bert were twins with green polos, black sweatpants and grey New Balance sneakers.   Why didn't I take a picture?

We miss you Daddy!

You have only been away for a few hours so far and we already miss you.  Can't wait to see and play with you!

Fun Saturday!

I also had to add pictures from your 1st Pumpkin Picking experience.

Cooking

La rotta della macchina

You had a great time in Italian today.  You loved seeing Maestra Maria and enjoying the familiar, as well as the new songs. You were super brave climbing up the ladder and going down the slide. You definitely know what you want and took the maile instead of the usual mucca.

Pizza

You and your Dad made a delicious pizza last night.  Daddy wasn't that impressed with your cooking skills, but you are not even two.  Dad didn't make his first pizza until he was at least 20 years old.  I think you did a great job! You loved pouring on the olive oil, which made the pizza extra delicious.

On another note, last night you learned how to jump from the ottoman to the couch and dive off the ottoman.  You were not doing a good job of listening to me and you kept giving me mini heartaches!

Mickey Mouse

You and Mama made yummy pancakes this morning.  You loved the ones in the shape of mickey and you ate 4 of them.  When Daddey was feeding you lunch you kept asking for "Mickey Mouse."  We didn't give you another pancake, but satisfied your need for "Mickey Mouse" with a new book from Allie's birthday.
